This is definitely NOT the blurb for the back cover. More just a quick thumbnail sketch to give the publisher an idea of what the book is about. But you're right. I think a couple of those clauses are a little tricky. It could definitely be more concise. The trick, as always, is figuring what to leave out without losing something important : )
